A Quick Summary of Everything that happened
Let's get this over with
So how is life?
My last post is from ~2 years ago. That’s a long time.
I’d like to give a brief (I’ll try, I swear) overview of everything important that happened.
University
I dropped out before finishing the first semester. I failed two main subjects which left me with too little credit to pass the semester.
I was extremely desperate. I thought I was a complete failure.
More attempts
I looked for another university. I kept believing that getting a degree is the most important thing ever.

I'm Back!
It's been a while...
What happened?
I guess I just lost interest? After I initially got the site running with Jekyll ~2 years ago I was really happy with it. But I quickly realized that Jekyll was the wrong templating engine choice.
It was also my first attempt at a statically generated site. It had a lot of issues and I quickly realized it would need a rewrite.
And as with most things, I’ve been putting that rewrite off forever.

University life
It's pretty cool... so far
Last week was my first university week. It was pretty cool. I was super nervous about how everything is going to work and such. I felt like I was leaping into the unknown (which I kinda was).
It is all pretty complicated and there was lots of information to remember just from the first week. Every subject has different rules of classification. But I feel like I can keep a handle on everything. (god I hope I can)

The GNOME Music Player Situation
I've just about had enough!
Alright, it’s no secret that I like GNOME. I like how the interface looks by default, I like that they don’t feel obligated to follow a traditional Windows-like workflow. I like that they’re going for convergence between handheld and desktop devices (and they’re succeeding in that I think). Seriously libhandy is so cool!
Now why the frustration? My frustration comes from a pretty niche place I think.
I need a music player. Easy, right? gnome-music
has you covered!
